Taxable value, GST rate and the CGST, SGST or IGST amount on each line.
Total and signature
Invoice total in figures and words, and an authorised signature.
When the bill book is not enough
A paper bill book and an Excel register are two records that have to agree — and at month end they rarely do. The phone sold on bill 214 has to be struck off the stock register by hand, the scheme on it noted in a third place, and the warranty date found later by flipping pages.
RetailerOS does it in one step: scan the IMEI at the counter and the GST bill is made, the handset leaves stock, the scheme sale is tagged, and the bill goes to the customer on WhatsApp. It is free for up to 50 bills a month. See mobile shop billing software → · Inventory for electronics stores →
Questions
What should a mobile shop GST bill include?
Your shop name, address and GSTIN; a running invoice number and date; the customer's name and address (and GSTIN if registered); place of supply; each item's description, HSN code, quantity and value; the taxable value, GST rate and CGST/SGST or IGST amount; the total; and a signature. Add the IMEI on every handset line. Confirm the exact requirements for your shop with your CA.
Why should the IMEI be written on the bill?
The IMEI ties the bill to one handset. It is what a brand service centre checks for warranty, what proves a sale under a brand scheme, and what settles a dispute if a customer returns a different phone.
Does the template fill in GST rates?
No, on purpose. Rates change, and the right rate depends on the item. Enter the rate your CA confirms in the GST % column and the Excel file calculates the tax.
Is there a mobile shop bill format in Word?
The bill is available as a printable PDF and as an editable Excel file. Excel opens in Google Sheets and WPS Office too, and calculates the tax for you, which Word cannot.
Can I use these formats for an electronics or appliance shop?
Yes. Use the IMEI 1 / Serial no. column for the serial number of an AC, fridge, TV or laptop and leave IMEI 2 blank.
Is there software that makes this bill automatically?
Yes. RetailerOS prints or WhatsApps this GST bill with the IMEI on it, takes the handset out of stock and tracks the scheme on it, from the same scan. It is free for up to 50 bills a month.
